01The flow path is hidden
Flow resistance, vortexing and cavitation happen inside the body. Exterior renders and catalogue photographs cannot reach them.
INDUSTRY / VALVES & FLUID
A valve sells on sealing and flow resistance, and both happen inside the metal. Without a cut-away, neither can be explained.
The internal complexity of a valve bears no relation to its outline: outside it is a cylinder, inside it is a flow path, a closure member, a seat, a sealing pair and an actuator. Clients judge a valve on flow resistance, sealing class and actuation reliability — none of which is visible. The job of the animation is to make the invisible visible.
WHY IT IS HARD
Flow resistance, vortexing and cavitation happen inside the body. Exterior renders and catalogue photographs cannot reach them.
Ball, butterfly, gate and globe valves all actuate differently, and prose does not let a client hear the difference.
How the sealing pair mates, wears and leaks is the core question in technical review, and the hardest thing to show.
“The medium flows axially and is redirected by the closure member” produces no image at all.
WHAT WE ANIMATE
Cut-aways, transparency and particles work together: a lay audience reads the principle, an engineer reads the structure.
A half-section exposes flow path, closure member, seat and sealing faces in one frame.
Full open to full closed, with the closure travel and the flow area changing together, so opening and flow rate relate visibly.
Streamlines and particles mark direction, velocity and vortex regions — where the medium actually goes.
Colour bands along the flow path turn a pressure or temperature distribution into something you can look at.
The valve in its piping system, showing what role it plays in the whole.

Charged per finished second, 110–250 CNY. Exterior presentation alone can sit at the lower end; cut-aways, flow visualisation and colour-band annotation need structural modelling and effects and usually sit at the upper end. The shot-by-shot estimate governs.

No. The flow is a visual device for direction and trend. Flow resistance, flow coefficients and cavitation must come from CFD and test data.
We can show the difference between a mating pair that seals and one that does not, but that does not replace seal test data. We avoid presenting animation as a test result.
Yes, we model from assembly drawings. Cut-away shots need verified internal dimensions, so anything missing from the drawings has to be supplied by you.

A section view is enough for me to propose a cut-away approach and a set of shots.
